- The Catalan spent four years at the Old Trafford but prefers to remain at Barca
- The veteran defender also welcomes Pogba at the Camp Nou
While speaking with the press at the poker advertising event in his native Barcelona, Gerard Pique opens up on a rather slim possibility of making his Manchester United return. The veteran defender matured as a player at the Old Trafford stadium under the guidance of the legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, Pique insists he isn't going to return to Manchester as Barcelona is his home. Daily Star quote him as saying: 'I don't think so. I'm very happy here. It's my home, with my family and friends, and playing for the club I always dreamed to play, and I hope to win more titles here.
Pique spent four years at Manchester United, between 2004 and 2008. He was loaned to Real Zaragoza for the 2006/2007 spell, however. Even though the Premier League time helped the defender to grow as a player, his English adventures couldn't be called successful. He made only 23 appearances and scored two goals for the Red Devils.
At the same event, Pique also backs Paul Pogba to join the Catalans. He continues, as quoted by Express: 'Pogba is a great player. We will see in the future if he wants to change clubs. We will be happy to have him here, obviously. We want the best players to be at Barcelona. Until he says something or the club says something, he’s a Manchester United player.'
